Delta Dental’s 2010 Philanthropic Fund Donations and Public Benefit Projects
Our $30,000 donation to the Donated Dental Services program helped facilitate nearly $420,000 of dental care (provided by volunteer dentists) to 141 elderly or disabled South Dakotans.
Roughly 58 South Dakota children received orthodontic care through the Sunshyne Smiles program funded in part by Delta Dental of South Dakota.
More than 350 adults and children received preventive care and are participating in Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate’s Cavity Free in 2-0-1-3, a study to prevent Early Childhood Caries. Delta Dental of South Dakota’s three-year commitment to this project is $200,000.
Thousands of school children are receiving oral health information and dental profession career information through South Dakota HealthEdventures, a health resource website and program for teachers, parents and kids. In 2010, Delta Dental provided $22,000 to help sponsor the program.
Together with the South Dakota Dental Foundation, Delta Dental made a donation to the SD Head Start Association that allowed roughly 10,000 Head Start children to receive toothbrushes and toothpaste. |
