Everyone Deserves Good Oral Health

In 2010 we contributed nearly $1.9 million to various philanthropic causes including our own Dakota Smiles Mobile Dental program. By the end of 2010 the program had provided nearly $6 million of care to more than 13,500 South Dakota children in 68 different communities.

Our largest donation in 2010, aside from our Dakota Smiles program, was a $300,000 challenge grant to Feeding South Dakota’s new Pierre Food Bank which serves 24 counties in central South Dakota. This was the largest donation in Feeding South Dakota’s history and we were honored to receive an award of commendation from the organization.

We were also honored to accept South Dakota Voices for Children’s 2010 Champion for Children award for the Dakota Smiles program, and the Capital Area United Way’s Supporter of the Year Award.

Because good oral health is about much more than just having healthy teeth and a nice smile, we have committed to promoting oral health education throughout the state. A small but energetic group of oral health educators is helping us spread the word about the importance of oral health and its relationship to general health to thousands of South Dakotans.

Preventing disease in young South Dakotans today means healthier employees tomorrow.
