From 2000 – 2010, the overall number of South Dakota dentists increased by 33 percent. And 97 percent of all South Dakota dentists participate in our Premier network resulting in greater access to care, more choice for enrollees and higher in-network utilization rates. Nearly 137,000 individual dentists participate with Delta Dental nationally.

Since 2004, Delta Dental has committed roughly $2 million for loan forgiveness to 38 young dentists who agree to treat underserved patients in return for payments on their education loans. For 2010, the dentists in the program collectively provided 22 percent of Medicaid patient visits in South Dakota.
